Prayer Request - Dear Church Family, We are asking for prayers for a little 5-year-old girl, Amira Plavecz, from Szentatalfa, Hungary. Her family is a friend of David and Victoria Aschliman. Amira has a tumor on her brain that is nearly impossible to operate on. They tried to remove part of it, but the operation caused a lot of damage. Though the tumor is not cancerous—it causes her to continually gain weight. They were told sometimes a child will continue to gain weight until their heart can no longer take it. Because of the damage from the operation, her every day care is very straining. She is not able to do much. Amira has 3 siblings, Melanie(9), Gilbert(7), Berton(2). Her father was recently put into the ministry as well. Your prayers on behalf of this young family would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all who attended last Sunday’s Church Picnic. God blessed us with a beautiful day and wonderful fellowship! Any items left after the picnic will be put on the “lost and found” shelf in the downstairs foyer at the east end of the dining room.

Apostolic Christian LifePoints Job Opening - Over the past year we have been working with new people in several positions which opened due to retirements and job changes. One position that recently reopened is an excellent opportunity for a brother, sister or friend to serve in a leadership and servant capacity. The opening is the Resident Services Director at Timber Ridge. Candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree in education, health, social services or social sciences. It would be very helpful if they also had experience working with people with disabilities. They would be responsible for overseeing staff who plan training and programming for the residents of Timber Ridge. In addition, we anticipate a couple of case manager positions coming open in the next several months. These also require a Bachelor’s Degree in education, health, social services or social sciences. Experience working with people with disabilities would be good but not required. If interested contact Timber Ridge at 309-266-9781. Please apply or inquire by 10-15-17.

The HarvestCall Collection is today. HarvestCall exists to enable the brotherhood to come together and proclaim Christ & serve others in the US, Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, Europe and other places. Many hurting people throughout the world need our help to be lifted out of spiritual and material poverty. Although what was once two organizations —World Relief and Mission Committee — are now integrated into one, our needs did not decrease. Mission opportunities are expanding as brethren hear and respond to the Lord’s call. Thanks for your prayers and generosity.
